SharePoint 2013 Workflow  - images from rich text field in mail

HI,

I have asked this question in the SharePoint forum and they suggested it could be an Outlook issue.

Ive created workflow to send email with list item data using SharePoint 2013 workflow.

Some of the item fields are rich text and contain images.

When the email arrives I cant see the images. Looking into the html of the mail reveals that the link to this images is relative.

BTW in SharePoint 2010 workflow it worked

Any suggestions why?

Thanks,

Shiri

Hi,

When these emails are received, are they received as html or rich text format?

Please also check if other images in Outlook emails will be displayed.

As mentioned in your previous thread:

https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/f5b6c617-b23a-4bfd-9b6c-ec7c4db02577/workflow-2013-images-from-rich-text-field-in-mail?forum=sharepointcustomization#f14021e3-d85a-40b5-8e16-ff8c2e5bbd57

In SharePoint 2010 workflow it worked, so please check if the image link from SharePoint 2010 workflow is relative.

Hi,

Thank you for your answer.

1. How can I know if they are html or rich text format? I know how to set it when sending mail..

2. Yes I can see other images.

3. Yes(!) in the 2010 workflow it was also relative... now i'm totally confused.

Hope my answers will help to solve this issue.

I appreciate your help,

Shiri

Hi,

Sorry for replying late, I've been busy.

I received your email and attachments. Here is what I did:

I opened the two .msg files you provided to me, then viewed the source of each file(MESSAGE tab -> Move -> Actions -> Other Actions -> View Source).

The tags and links for the image are exactly the same in two files as below:

<img src="/... .png" alt="" style="margin:5px;">

There is one thing I noticed which you may also pay attention to:

In one file, on the top of the source, we can find this:

<base href="http://......">

But in the other file souce, there are no such tag.

As I don't have access to your resources, in neither files I can see the image. If the one with the <base href="http://......"> can show the image, I think what we need to figure out is how to add the <base href="http://......"> to the message during the workflow.

I hope the information is helpful to you. :)

I also removed some information which may be confidential to protect your privacy.
